About Trait Writers
We Know Student Needs
With decades of classroom teaching, literacy coaching, curriculum, and education leadership experience, we have experienced firsthand the struggles educators face in teaching writing, whether in ELA classrooms or in content areas. We know that neither a scripted program nor a boxed curriculum can create a strong student writer. Our focus is helping teachers improve student outcomes by building student skills and knowledge of what quality writing actually is, what quality writing looks like, and how to use a process to achieve writing expectations.
Trait Writers uses the research-based 6+1 Trait® Writing framework developed by teachers working alongside staff from Education Northwest (formerly the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory). Education Northwest has given us permission to continue the training it provided to teachers around the world for many years.

We strive to provide high quality professional services that are directly connected to student needs, job embedded, immediately usable, engaging, and offers on-going support.
