Our Approach

We start with a look at your data. Are there trends and patterns which we can address or build upon? Where do you want your school to be in 1, 2, 3 years?

Services are customized to fit your needs. Using the 6+1 Trait framework, we connect skills, strategies, and authors' crafts of writing instruction to the grade-level expectations for your students, allowing us to target improvement across all grades and content areas.

Workshops offer introduction of the trait model and implementation sessions for traditional, writing workshop, and content-based classrooms. We also offer specifically targeted areas of focus.

Our on-going support for literacy leaders and writing coaches guides them as they lead teachers in the improvement of student writing performance.

We also collaborate with literacy leaders to develop school-specific materials such as benchmarked student papers with scores and feedback to guide student growth and/or strengthen vertical and horizontal alignment.

Services may be delivered in-person, virtually, or in a blended format. Schools receive a PDF guidebook which may be printed for participants. Certificates of participation are provided for participants.

Our costs are competitive and begin at $2500 per day for a 5-6 hour professional development session, not including travel expenses if applicable.
